Information not reported in the media on a greater health risk than guns.

This is a public service message.

Everyone has a position on gun bans, or the right to have guns, or how dangerous or not dangerous guns are.

Unfortunately, there are some interesting facts on a greater risk to the population that is being left out of the media.

We want to make you aware of a very common and much higher life risk than guns.

Please review the following statistics on our medical profession and gun ownership.



(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. Is 700,000.
(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.
by doing the math:
(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Now think about this:

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. Is 80,000,000.
(Yes, that's 80 million)
(B) Many own multiple guns, some have extensive collections, a conservative estimate is over 320,000,000 guns in the U.S.
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, for all age groups, is 1,500.
again, doing the math
(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188.

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

So, 'Guns don't kill people, Doctors do.' would be a more accurate phrase.


FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

Out of concern for the public at large, I withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention!

Perhaps the slogan for the generation that said "don't trust anyone over 40" should, for the new decade, be "Distrust the Media".
